As can be seen, at points where the diagram shows peaks, the operator increased the mechanical torque applied by the dynamometer, thereby increasing the load on the engine. The hydraulic dynamometer type used in this test , which was unable to apply a smooth torque below 2000 N\u00b7m and caused significant fluctuations in that range\u2014clearly visible in the figure.
